The brand Radius was introduced to the market in 1934 by the Turinese company S.A.F.I.S. (Società AnonimaAnonima Fabbrica Italiana Fountain Pens) and it represents one of the most prestigious brands on the Italian production scene of the ‘30s and ‘40s.
The first Radius pens of the 1930s followed the typical technical styles of the time, adopting the classic filling systems mechanisms of that time, bottom filler and lever filler.
One of the most important features of the Radius pens was certainly the careful selection of materials and the search for original and always extremely elegant color combinations, according to the style and the tradition of S.A.F.I.S.
At the end of ‘30s, in the wake of the new trend of transparent ink reservoir, Radius developed its own Transparent model.
The Transparent Radius had a traditional filling system mechanism that thanks to a special technical solution offered complete visibility of the ink contained in the reservoir.
For this model were used excellent quality celluloids with a geometric design, in perfect harmony with the modernist style of the time.
In the late 1940s and early 1950s also Radius started to use the piston filler for their models, revising the design of the pens to stay in line with the modernist style of the time.
Over the decades Radius pens have never failed to maintain their technical and stylistic tradition of elegance and quality, with a choice of refined and original materials and the use of top-level nibs.
