  • Cleaning the nib

    For a proper maintenance and cleaning of the nib, you always need to remove it from the feed channel.
    The first thing to do is to clean the outer parts, to remove any small residues. It is advisable to do this with a damp cloth and act gently to avoid any scratches.
    In order to remove the dry ink from inside, it is necessary to immerse the nib in cold water and let the water run through the piece. This process can be done either with a syringe or under the stopcock.

INK

  • Tank maintenance

    In order to keep the tank of our Radius in perfect working order, it is necessary to wash it, about every 4-5 refills. The best practice is to simulate refills with cold water, this removes residue or small ink deposits. If the piston does not run smoothly, it is necessary to lubricate the walls by applying silicone grease; this can be done with a toothpick through the hole of section. Successively operate the piston so that the grease is evenly distributed.

  • Refill Ink

    To refill the tank it is necessary to immerse the entire nib inside the ink bottle, then suck the ink into the pen by turning the backplate clockwise until it locks;
    Make half a counter-clockwise turn of the backplate, letting a few drops of ink out, so to allow air to escape;
    Clean the nib with a dampened cloth that does not leave any residue.

CLEANING

  • Pen Body Maintenance

    The main body of the pen also needs to be cleaned periodically. To do this take care to disassemble all its components and leave the pen in a container with cold water. Successively, clean the internal parts letting the water run through them and leave them to dry overnight.
    A microfibre cloth will be needed to polish the barrel and metal parts.
    If the clip or wax should show scratches, polishing could be carried out using special abrasive pads, but it is advisable to seek for professional advice.
